Terms and Conditions:

  1. The promotion period starts from 22 July 2019.
  2. Customers who successfully execute online buy and sell order for the same US securities on the same trading day are entitled to enjoy commission discounts in the related transactions. The preferential US Day Trade Promotion Rate is 0.05% of the transaction amount, with minimum charge of USD 7.
  3. The promotion does not apply to forced selling trades.
  4. There will be no amalgamation of orders for trades in the US market. Each filled US buy or sell order will be treated as an individual contract and commission will be charged accordingly for each of these contracts
  5. The offer is not available to the clients of Phillip Capital Management (HK) Ltd, the clients of Capital Investment Entrants Scheme and institutional clients.

1. In the same trade day, I have executed all 3 of the below trades via POEMS apps, am I entitled to the day trade commission rate?

- Bought 100 shares of ABC at $5.00

- Bought 100 shares of ABC at $5.01

- Sold 20 shares of ABC at $5.20

Yes, all 3 orders will be charged with the promotion rate of 0.05% trade considerations, minimum USD $7. They will be charged separately, no trade amalgamation.

 

2. In the same trade day, I have executed both trades below via POEMS apps, am I entitled to the day trade commission rate?

- Bought 100 shares of ABC at $5.00

- Sold 100 shares of XYZ at $5.00

No. You will be charged with regular commission rate.

Frequently Asked Questions of Day Trade of US-listed Stock

1.How do I qualify for the US Day Trade Promotion rate?

So long as fulfil a minimum of 1 buy trade and 1 sell trade of the same stock within the same day, you will enjoy the US Day Trade Promotion rate on orders under the same stock.

2. Do I need to buy and sell the same share quantity of the same stock to qualify for the US Day Trade Promotion rate?

No, so long as you fulfil a minimum of 1 buy trade and 1 sell trade for the same stock within the same day, each trade of that stock within the same day will enjoy the US Day Trade Promotion rate.

3.For example, if I bought 50 shares of AAPL at market open, sold 30 shares of AAPL at mid-day and bought another 150 shares before market close. How will I be charged for commission?

Since you fulfilled the requirement of minimum of 1 buy trade and 1 sell trade of the same stock within the same day, you will enjoy US Day Trade Promotion rate on all 3 orders. However, they are no amalgamation of US trades, you will be charged 3 separate transactions with the promotion rate.

4.If I place a buy order online and sell the stock offline (via phone dealing), both orders executed. Will I entitle to the US Day Trade Promotion rate?

No, both buy and sell orders have to be done online in order to entitle to the promotional rate.
